What are some potential causes of dreams that have, after waking up, a questionable reality? Lately I feel as if I can not seperate actual memories from memories of dreams. Very strange feeling to not be able to tell what exactly is "REAL".

I've experienced this MANY times and it can be very confusing. Actually, I have a "game" that I play where I wake up, look around, and check to see if I'm in my own room/house. Usually, I'm not, so I go to sleep again and wake up again -- round and round. I've done this up to 12 times in a row. By the time I "really" woke up -- I had some severe doubts about reality.

Try doing some research on "lucid dreaming" for ways of controlling this, gaining from the experience, and what others have reported from it. You can start here:

It sounds like what you're experiencing is Lucid Dreaming. Basically, it's when you dream but it seems so real it's as if you're awake. For example, people often dream of flying, but when they wake up, they don't really remember the sensation. Lucid dreaming allows you to remember that "feeling", as if you were awake and actually flying. People sometimes use Lucid dreaming as a way of solving problems in real life. They dream out the scenario and then try to come up with a solution in their dream. Consider yourself lucky you can Lucid dream. It's takes time and practice to get it right.

Wearing the nicotine patch causes this type of dream in most people. So does taking Lunesta..
