In fact, none of those are correct because the question is flawed. No 'genes' disappear, it is one of the two alleles that can disappear for a generation or more before reappearing. In such cases it is the recessive allele that behaves this way.

for example if you have YY and yy
when you cross the two plants you will have all Yy plants. The recessive (yy) plants have "disappeared". These traits can reappear in later generation though.

Recessive...These genes will not appear in the phenotypes (i.e. physical appearance) of the F1 generation.
