I don't think that making a fake bomb should constitute a life-sentence. That would be the same as giving people who make death-threads a sentence for murder.
You should only get to prison for committed crimes.
The only thing i could imagine you could do to a fake-bomb maker would be some counseling, or if that fails psychiatric care. If you would start imprisoning people for things they have not really done, you open the door for many more types of arrest.

I dont think the people answering this have any idea that this is the guy who made 4 bombs for July 21st. The fact that he made them poorly shouldnt let him off the hook.

I doubt anyone other than die hard liberals or muslims believe that he actually intended to make a "fake bomb"

Life imprisonment is too good for this guy, he needs to be taken out back and shot.
