Every color, including black, had different shades. Hold the black jeans you've washed 10 times up against a never washed pair of the same brand. They are both black, but they will be two different shades. Brand new clothes that are black won't always match, either.

Jet black (in relationship to hair color) is the darkest black and it has a blue base which makes it more of a true black than dark black which has a brown base.

The darkest black of all...Hold several different black objects next to each other and you'll see there are actually different shades. Jet black is pure black.

wait a sec. if its so black it looks blue then whos to say it isnt incredibly dark blue? I would say that black ranges from the deep shade of grey to the deepest shade of grey which is black like jet. but once you start seeing blue hues, its defnitly enchanced black, with blue in it!

the term jet black comes from reference to the blackness of the semi precious stone Jet - its black and shiny and very intense.

so if something is jet black its very intense.
