I wouldn't worry too much about it. I have had 4 babies and I only had my water break in public once. I was pregnant with my third child and I was sitting in a restaurant when my water broke. Everybody was very helpful and understanding.

Basically, those stories you hear about somebody's water suddenly breaking and there being a huge gush of "fluid" don't usually happen. Most times, they have to break your water for you when you are in the hospital in labor. If your water does break on its own, it is usually just a slow trickle of fluid and can be controlled with a sanitary pad like you would use for your period. In those very rare instances when a person's water breaks and it is a big gush, most people are very helpful and accommodating. It just isn't a big deal.

Best of luck to you and congratulations on the baby.

I had the exact same worry - I was sure my water would break at work and it can be as much as a 2 liter bottle of soda.

My brother told me to bring in a 2 liter bottle of Sprite or 7-Up. If my water breaks, pour the soda down a drain, then put the empty bottle on the floor next to you. "Oops - spilled this entire 2 liter bottle on the floor and all over my pants. Gotta go home and change!"

This is a legal/ ethical question?

Oh well -- Here is my thought.......go to the hospital? I would first suggest saying something like "clean up on aisle FOUR" or "Mr. Janitor can we get a mop to Mr. X's Algebra class - umm pronto"
