I personally love it, so long as the guy knows what he is doing or can listen when I say to slow down or speed up.
If you are considering it remember to be very hygienic about it! You can use condoms and lube to help the penetration, and both of you should wash yourselves very well before returning to vaginal sex.
Talk things out with your partner first, (out of the bedroom and days before you actually commit the act), and get all your worries out and make sure that he is able to listen if you say stop, or slow down. Take it slow, and enjoy it!

My wife and I thought it was a good idea at the time but she would complain about the pain and other embarrassing issues for the next week - only 1/2 my ---- was in there. We wouldn't do it again.
Ron Jeremy suggests that there is only one natural position for anal sex which is doggy style where the woman tries to "poop" out the ----. According to Ron, that position is the cleanest and least embarrassing for both men and women.

Anal sex can be very sensual, when both partners are willing and understand that 4-play is the key to anal enjoyment, not to mention lube or gel. Try some of the heating type, it is good for both partners.

Some women like it, many men do. However, the risk for all t types of infections increase greatly specially if no protection is used. In addition, some women can suffer anal scars (very painful).

anus is not created for sex. Many medical studies show that continous practice of anal sex had bad consequences for the female, including but not limited to dilation of the recturm, which might force you to use diabers at later age.
there is also risk of infection.
Even though I am very open minded, I don't recommend anal sex due to its demerits over its advantages

Anal sex can be good, better than good, but the man has to be patient and take his time, or it is really painful. Lots of foreplay, lots of lube, and lots of trust between the both of you. Trust that he will stop when you say stop, and trust that you will say stop if it becomes too painful.

you should try most things one time, you may love it or hate it, but you will never know you love it if you didn't try it. Yes it can be painful, but if done right with a lot of patience and foreplay it can be pleasurable. If your husband thinks he is in porn and can just whip it out and put it in, you will scream in pain for your life. If you search on line you will find a lot of material on-line giving you times. Just in FYI it could take hours of foreplay to feel relaxed and get the mood and a lot lube. I would not suggest alcohol to relax, you want to be sober enough so if you feel the pain then you can stop immediately and not wake up next day wondering why your back side hurts.

My husband loves for me to let him perform anal. I have a rule that we can not do it unless i have had a few drinks. It hurts me, but sometimes when i am feeling really freaky i like to go there. We did this weekend and i am paying for it now. my opinion is to try it and see if you like it.
