My family has both verizon and T mobile. You can get (for Verizon) a deal where you get free texting and pictures for a certain amount a month. And T Mobile tends to be more expensive. I like Verizon better because it has coverage everywehre but if you plan on going overseas and want to use your cellphone, T Mobile is the best company because their calls overseas are a lot cheaper than Verizon.

Both companies have a trial period, Verizon 15 days and T-mobile 30 days. If you return the phone, the box and everything in the box within that time you only have to pay for the services used. Try them both and see which one works best in the places you go.

Asking us is really useless.
I could ask the same question and someone from Canada could tell me its amazing service and then another person from Florida could tell me its terrible.
It depends where YOU live specifically.
A few of the answers below are a bit biased. Just because someone had trouble with the service, doesn't mean you will too. Vise versa. I happen to like Tmobile and my service is perfect.
Take a look at Tmobile's website. They have a coverage check that gives you visual map of where and how strong your coverage is in your area. I'm sure Verizon has something similar.
Once you're locked into a new contract, you can't back out. Its final. So please, look at the coverage instead of picking the wrong one.

I've been with T-Mobile for a couple years; I like them. My current plan is 600 minutes/month, 400/any text messages, and unlimited weekend minutes. My bill is around $50 a month. I hardly ever go over my minutes; my main friend also has T-Mobile, so our calls are free to each other. You'd probably do well with T-Mobile with the My Faves plan...you can call any five people no matter what other cell phone provider they use and the calls are free!

T-mobile
*good deal on unlimited text and pic messages $15.99 [really pays off cause for every individual text is 10 cents
*fave five
*more mins
*clear tone when you have 1-all bars BUT you lose reception in different places lol
*mobil to mobil are not free
*sometimes over charge
Verizon
*no text plans
*less minutes
*reception almost any where but not too clear
*variety in phones

Deffinately Verizon !! Tmobile is a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE company, i am a Verizon Customer and a former Tmobile customer Take my words..tmobile.. Sucks!! One of the reason: a few of my friends has tmobile and everytime i try to call them with my verizon phone.. it Never rings but it goes straight to the voicemail..so you have to keep calling and calling and calling until you hear the ringings THEN they pickup(so i tell them about it they say that they didnt see the phone ring)...it happens Everytime i call Any Tmobile number also to ALL my friends who has tmobile.
GSM just isnt the best here in the USA

Go with Verizon. T-Mobile lied to me when I asked if my area had a 'dead zone', after getting the phone and finding out I could not use it unless I was 4 miles away from my home I sent it back and told them I would not pay due to false advertisement. They are now trying to sue me.

verizon has in texting and cant get unlimited out of network texting, so that is a major disadvantage for verizon. if you text alot, then you will be paying for it with verizon. tmobile has unlimited text to anyone for $14.95 a month.
the fav five is a huge deal, and you wont realize its value until you have it. the 14.95 text package also includes pics.

I've been T-Mobile for years, T-Mobile has great plans but signal kinda iffy. Verizon has great signal everywhere! but very pricey. It's up to you, you basically pay for what you get. =P
