Do I need an extra SATA power cable to connect my power supply to the SATA DVD burner? Or I can just simply connect the 4-pin header from the power supply to the DVD burner?

If the DVD burner has a 4 pin connector you can use that instead of the standard SATA power connector. If it doesn't have a 4 pin connector then you can buy a 4 pin to SATA power converter...electrically they are the same.

that depends what connector does the drive have

It only needs one power source plugged in, sata plug or molex 4 pin.

they both deliver the same power it just comes down to what connector is free and closest in the case.

note sata cables and sata power cables have this bad tendency to vibrate loose unless they have a lock on them.

whereas Molex don't like to come out at all
