What if the EU, Russia and China would come and attack America for its nuclear program and Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) ?
US has WMD, we are the only nation on earth to use them on civilians in Japan, making it one of the biggest genocides in history.
What if they would impose sanctions upon us ?
Do you think it would be fair ?
Because you see... that's what we're doing with Iraq and now Iran...

Many of you responded that Saddam was better off without nuclear weapons which I agree.
But he does not have them. It's been proved that nuclear weapons are non existent in Iraq. The country is so poor it can hardly sustain itself.
So then, why don't we leave ?
Do we have other interests there ?

Very good point. This administration and many U.S. citizens seem to have a serious and disturbing "might makes right" attitude. Our nation has thrown it's weight around before, but since 9/11 it's become by far the biggest bully in the world and that will come back to haunt us if it hasn't already.

That would be hypocritical, because under the NPT, which was signed by Britain, France, Russia, China, and the United States, ALL nuclear powers are supposed to rid the world of their nuclear weapons.
That means EVERYONE...including those 5, Israel, Pakistan, India, and North Korea.
It is obvious how little progress has been made.

Look up the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. We are not allowed to build anymore nuclear weapons. All the countries that had these weapons before the treaty can have what they already had but can not make any more than that. I think there were five countries that already had them including China and Russia.

Exactly !!
But US is in power this time.......Russia and EU are not powerful enough to impose sanctions upon you through UN as UN is already in charge of US, so actualy there is no one to stop US and tell it that you are wrong......China has its own problems !Seems like US is free to do anything just like a king !even can ban other countries for what they already possess in enormous number and even used it twice!

The valid nuclear powers ought to make further measures to proceed the alleviation of their weapons. besides the shown fact that the NPT is in place to sidestep the proliferation of nuclear weapons as extra nukes in extra international locations ability extra threat of one been used. as nicely the only reason all of us is talking approximately action against Iran is because of its achievable nuclear weapons software.

Sadly, the ssenario you just stated would probably be an extinction level event, at least for life as we know it. Super powers generally shy away from conflict with each other because of M.A.D. (mutual asured destruction) It would be a lose-lose situation with sanctions, and the worst case scenario: both countries ending up nuked.
But I most certainly see your point and agree with you.

Hussein was like Hitler - he was trying (and often succeeded) to kill people he didn't like. If he threatens our country by saying he has wmd's, why wouldn't we at least think he might be telling the truth? if someone threatens us, we should take them out before they can harm us.
And what we did to Japan was an act of war, not genocide. We weren't trying to eradicate an entire population, we were trying to end a war with fewer casualties for ourselves.

Some, but not all, nations are permitted to have nuclear weapons under various treaties. Please read up on this before you advance any more silly questions. The attacks on Japan were not genocide: they were a legitimate act of war on military targets.
