you have to be 18. the only cell phone i know of that you dont have to be 18 is a Cingular GoPhone. you still get free nights and weekends and all that but it's no contract, no signing, and no bills.

You have to be 18 to sign a contract, actually you can sign a contract under 18 but it isn't enforceable so no company will agree to do that.

However, you can get a Sidekick from T-mobile as prepaid, it is $1 a day when you use e-mail, the internet or IM and 15 cents a minute for voice calls. There is no contract to sign, the phone just costs more.

Legally, you must be 18 years old in order to enter into a contract. Also, all cell phone carriers perform a credit check on thier customers. If you were able to sign a contract for service (which you won't be able to), you'd also likely have to pay a deposit (probably around $500).

Any legal contract anywhere in this country requires that you be at least eighteen years old.

You can however get a prepaid cell phone at any age.

You can be any age as long as your parents sign the contract. But since your not 18 you can not do it. Just have your parents do it and tell them you will make all the payments.

18 unless an adult is willing to cosign for you. that means if you don't pay the bill they have to- but normally that ends up them paying and you getting a butt kicking. lol.

but you can get a pay as you go one at any age.

I know this because my first cell had to be pay as you go and now at 20 I have a plan....
