Anything by Jane Green, Marian Keyes, Jennifer Weiner and Emily Giffin. I've read just about everything they've written and LOVED it. I also like Elizabeth Young, Cathy Kelley and Sarah Webb.

Look for books published by Red Dress Ink - they specialize in Chick Lit.

There are some anthology collections featuring short stories by many writers who have novels out. The short stories are a good way to get a feel for which authors you like and want to read more of, and which ones you don't. Look for:
