You can pick up the replacement cord for $10-$20, and can actually install it yourself if you chose to take on the task. I'm guessing but it should only be about 30 minutes to install.
Good Luck!!!

RE:
how much does it cost to fix a lawn mower?????
Bought a Snapper 1 year ago and it's been in storage..... while in storage cats snapped the pull cord that starts the engine. What is a fair cost for this?
Or should I just buy a new Honda mower at Costco for $400?

If all that is wrong is the pull cord, then it should cost you no more than $50 at the absolute max. We do pull cords here for $15 - $25, depending on if we have to put the spring back in. Put fresh gas in the mower and it should start.
Why spend more money, when you have a good mower?

There's not much sense in junking a year-old mower over a pull rope.
I'd guess 50 bucks a a mower shop.
An estimate is just a phone call away...

my old mower was 200 bucks and some axle broke and it would have cost me 150 to fix it, so i would recommend a new one.

to just fix the power cord (pull starter cord) all you have to do is unscrew the top housing over the cord and put a new one in. You can go to any lawnmower repair store (maybe even a home depot??) and get a rebuilt one for around $20 yourself, cost more for labor if they put it in..

Take the starter assembly off the motor. Remove the cord, take it to the hardware store and buy a piece the same diameter and length with a little to spare. It will cost about a dollar.
