I think he should won for "X" in his positive portrayal of a Black man instead of a crooked police detective.

Wouldn't presume to try to take anything from him. He's my favorite actor. I feel he did a great job in both movies, it's just the positive characters Blacks play need to be outshining the negative. We get enough thuggery image from rap music. What's so negative about a maid? It's honest money.

He should have won for both actually. His performance in both movies was nothing short of phenomenal.

Why not take the award for both? Denzel has proven many times over that he is one of the most dynamic and talented black actors in this century. I won't categorize the brother or exclude him from recieving any props... I know what he can do. I go way back to St. Elsewhere man. Big ups to the brother! See the thing is this... He may have played a crooked police detective but thank God he isn't one.
Hattie McDaniel once said ( when being ridiculed by the black community) I would rather play a maid and get paid... than be a maid and not.

Both were really great movies, but in Training Day Denzel Washington expanded his range as an actor by playing the bad and crocked guy instead of the good guy. Dezel is one of the best actors in Hollywood he should have Oscars for most of his movie roles.
