I would think that this would be an even exchange of energy. Maybe even the computer being more effient becasue it is already running.

Charging the mobile through the pc is more efficient if u are using the computer for other things at the same time.
However it would not be worth it leaving the pc on for charging the mobile only.

Using the wall charger wastes some energy as heat. In fact whilst charging the charger heats up.
Also unplug the wall charger when ure ready since it keeps heating up for nothing thus wasting electricity

Either will use electricity of course. My guess is that the charger may use less electricity, but marginally so, unless you leave the laptop up and running just to charge up your phone, in which case the difference will be much greater.

If you want to save energy (which I encourage you to do), the most effective way is to only recharge your phone when you need to, rather than leaving it to charge permanently.

Yes when you plug it into the computers USB port it will try to load the drivers, which it may need the CD for. In the future make sure you plug it into the same USB port or it will try and reload the drivers each time you plug it into a different port, just one of those quirks Windows has. Also charging via the USB port takes a lot longer than if you plugged it into a mains charger.
