OVULATING means when a women is in her 28 day menstrual cycle where the ovul is passing through the falopian tubes to be expelled from the vagina BEFORE the discharge of blood begins. That is the ovulating cycle of the menstrual cycle.

PERIOD is actually after the ovul reaches the vagina and is expelled from the body (if a sperm doesn't catch it first and you get pregnant). That is when the flow of blood begins for at least 3 to 5 days for a regular cycle. Could be less or more days.

MENOPAUSE is when the process of ovulation commences to decline, meaning the body is saying you are getting too old to have any more babies, thus your reproductive system starts to turn off. Period cycles start to decline and eventually women stop bleeding.

...In layman terms...

Ovulation occurs approximately 14 days after the first day of one's period (if they are very regular - 28-30 days apart). That is when eggs can be fertilized by sperm, and a woman can become pregnant.

Menopause can occur in women usually between 40 and 50 (give or take). First, the periods become irregular, and some are missed--later, the periods stop all together. After a woman has not had a period in about a full year, it is fairly safe to say that she will not become pregnant by natural methods.

Ovulation is when an egg is released from a womans body, ovulation is the peak time for chances of getting pregnant because that egg is ready to be fertilized. Menapause is when a woman stops getting her period and can go through all sorts of hormonal side effects, like hot flashes and mood swings. A period is when the lining inside of a womans uterus is shed because the egg was not fertilized, when this happens a woman bleeds for anywhere from 5-7 days.

I didnt want to go into great detail since you are a guy lol

In order to ovulate you must have your period. You ovulate about 15-17 days before you get your period, and that's the time your eggs come down to meet the sperm of a man you're in love with and you make a baby. Menopause happpens when you're 50(give or take a few years), and your period stops and you can't conceive a baby anymore. Many people refer to menopause as the "change of life". Your period starts between ages10-15. You bleed every month for a few days.

Ovulation is the time during a woman's 28 day cycle when the egg is released. Its when she is most fertile. Menopause is when a woman stops having a period usually in the late 40's early 50's.

A period is when the lining of her uterus is shed and she has several days of bleeding

Sometime during the month a women ovulates (the egg leaves the ovaries and in-beds itself into the uterus) This is when if she has intercourse the sperm finds the egg and she can become pregnant.
If the women does not have intercourse or no sperm finds the egg, then the wall of the uterus fills with blood and is dispelled-thus the "period".
Menopause is when the women depletes her eggs (you only have so many and then that is it) That is why the clock is ticking for a women. And then the women is no longer capable for reproduction.

Wow! Whatever happened to biology classes and - God forbid! - sex education? I find it rather frightening that so many kids are having sex at such a young age and are completely clueless how their own bodies work! I think if we had good sex education kids would understand more and be better able to make personal choices. Sex education would inform them about STD's, pregnancy, birth control and a host of other things they really should know if they are going to be sexually active. It's very scary to think what may happen in their futures when they didn't know the facts and made bad choices that could affect them for the rest of their lives.
