Some argue it takes the 'personal' out of interpersonal communication. So much of communication depends on interaction and nonverbal behavior. Reading emails are great and convenient but we are not able to tell if a person is being dishonest. It is also making people lazier. The importance of spelling and correct grammar is becoming a non-issue. Especially, when we have spell check and use internet lingo. Imagine how it feels when you go on a first date, now, imagine that same date being done over instant messaging. Notice how the latter example sucks the fun out of a first date experience.

Morally, I'd view the effects as an extent ion of a partial Anti-Social environment.
But it is a way of reaching out also, to people, and places that were unavailable before the Internet.
I think if you can sub-divide the use of the Internet and interacting socially , between the two things will be alright.
To rely on the Internet alone, would be a disaster.

in some ways ? it is a very fast and speedy way to get information without having to get out of your own home , there are alot of benefits to having the Internet and some down parts to it ?
the down part ? is, that it has taken some of the basics human touches out of context and brought it to some other level ...not quite sure it is positive or negative ?
nowadays , all comes from the Internet , love, books , communication ,TV; music etc. therefore , it lacks the human touch and Real contact , yet ? today , since the Internet is worldwide ? it does bring so many unknown worlds to your doors ,still without getting out of your home ......it has broaden our horizons with a larger and cheaper dimension especially .
still , with the benefits of the use of the Internet , which ? who would ever thought this could happen ? for i find it amazing and restrictive ?
it brings families that are separated geographically ,with conversations, web-cam , photos etc. good part of it .....
many people who might have been shy or lonesome ....may have found a way to somehow get in touch with others ?
there are thousands of examples of effects of Internet :
kids learn alot (home-work ) but get addicted to games, not going out to play as kids used to do ? parents , spend too much time on it ?
love is not like it once was ? meeting trough the Internet ? easier ? faster ? i do not know .....
perhaps the libraries are not as full ? researches all done on the internet ? easier and faster ...
much more time spend inside , rather than out ?
but ? you can book vacations, buy anything , talk to anyone , see anyone ,and everything ?
speed , availability ,reachability ,low cost , time saver ,?
i truly think , that, perhaps ? all who use the internet may find what one was looking for , in some way .......? not sure ?
gee ......that is a poser here :-)

it affects humanity for the simple reason it brings the information that you would normally would have get in a library or the tv. secondly it brings an enormous amount of people together of different backgrounds( religion, traditions etc. you know what i mean) this can evolve into a social shock that would lead you to question a whole array of things!!

I think we meet more people, but it limits our relationships (no personal encounters).
