I am currently 26 1/2 weeks. The skin around my belly is so sore today, especially around my belly button. I swear it feels like it is going to tear. I don't remember this happening during my first pregnancy, but I am also a lot bigger in my belly area this time around. Has anyone ever experienced this before? Thanks!

Yep, I have painful stretching of the skin that almost burns. This seems to be linked to my developing stretch marks. I also had achy pains around my belly button that actually hurt to touch. My doctor said that this was part of the stretching tendons, muscles, and so forth.
Hope this helps. Take care.

Yes, when i carried my daughter mine did like that. I don't know if that means anything that I had 2 boys and didn't. My doctor said it was all part of the process and completely normal. It will pass, I'm pretty sure once I got further along, mine quit altogether. The middle of my pregnancy when everything is shifting and stretching is when I remember it most. Try keeping it rubbed with lotion.

The sides of my stomach got that way. It feels like your belly is going to explode. Its just cause theres a lot in there and your belly is so tight and packed with baby! its normal. Take soem tylenol and see if that will help you feel a little better.

I recommend a nice nightly massage with oil or lotion. This will help your skin retain its elasticity, and should cut down on the soreness. It will only get worse if you don't deal with it!

Olive oil can work, so can shea or cocoa butter lotions. I got a blend of oils (Mamma Mio) as a gift in my first pregnancy and absolutely loved its smell and effects :-)

I did with my third child. Every pregnancy is different. Though there may be similarities, there will also be major and minor differences. Try some lotion. Dry skin hurts more when it stretches than moist skin. If it gets to be too much call your Dr. They may have other suggestions for you to try.
