I have this paper due for college and everyone keeps giving me bs answers.Like dictionary answers. I need someone to break it down.

Its a piece about the slavery experience usually first hand. One exapmle would the Fredderick Douglass's book. a PP reponse about the slave girl book is good as well. I read it in college and it was eye opening.

A slave narrative is the story of a slave's life told by that slave. There's a book called The Classic Slave Narratives by Henry Louis Gates Jr. that has a lot of different ones that i had to use for my test.

It is usually a story written by a slave depicting slave life, usually true to life. Check out the book: Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl. Good book!

A narrative is a story. A slave narrative would be a story by a slave about his or her life.

A slave narrative is a narrative written by a slave about a slave's life (doesn't have to be their own). Equiano is an example.

Simply put it is a story about a slave sometimes the story is told by that same slave or by other slaves that saw this story take place. Hope this helps!!

I agree with that answer. Read the "Nat Turner Story". "Uncle Tom's Cabin" could be considered a narrative, also.
