I found one by accident. There was a job in the paper and I called the number that was listed and it was for a 'contract house'. I got into my company that way. I worked there for a total of 6 years and it was a relatively good experience. I am still in the same line of work, just different company.

Good Luck!

In my experience, headhunters don't really work for you, they work for the big company. I "used" a headhunter once....I was living in NC and found a job on the internet in MN. I contacted the number/e-mail listed (it was a headhunter), who represented me at this company, I was brought in for the interview, the headhunter showed me around the area (basically "sold" the job to me) and then I got the job.

I could see that headhunters would represent an executive-type position, but why would a headhunter represent you if you are not the one paying them. Theoretically, the company is paying them to find an employee. So I bet they are glad to know you in case you match a position they may have open, but I can't imagine they would "represent you" without payment.

It depends on your qualifications and what you want to do. The question is simply too vague to answer but you usually use a headhunter on occupations that demand a higher level of education and experience and with a very nice salary. If you are a blue collar worker then you don't need a headhunter.
