Yes, for several reasons.
With people living into their 80's, the reproduce-and-raise-children years become a smaller percentage of our lives. Also, even during those years the needs to push information into our children's heads grows ever greater.
Plans change. Needs change. What seems unimportant one day is critical the next. The only security we have, as individuals or as a species, is adaptability. Flexibility of the mind is the key.
Education is the universal solution to almost every problem. Knowing more helps -- no matter what you are doing. Earning money, raising children, enjoying free time, being a spouse -- everything improves with education.
Yes, women should without question go for higher education. They benefit. Their families benefit. Their communities benefit.

I do not see any cons in people improving their minds and developing their understanding of their world. Higher Education should not just be about employment. It is about self-actualization. Even if you focus on the employment angle no one can know for certain that they will never have a need or desire to work in the future.

Absolutely they should! Education works wonders for the self esteem. It is wonderful for children to have educated mothers/aunts/cousins to be role models as well as to help them mature. It is essential for a woman who chooses to home-school her children which is becoming more popular. Mostly a woman should be educated for herself. She shouldn't have to "settle" ...hence having to depend on a man for survival. A man should respect a woman, and an educated woman has earned respect.

we need education just like men. If we have children, and decide staying home is best for the family, then that will be our choice as well. Many men stay home now.
