Everyone is talking about the Suns, Mavs, or Spurs winning the NBA finals. These are all legitimate choices because they are clearly playing the best basketball at this given point (and that's shown in their records). But the "sleeper" that would "shock" the world and has a serious shot at winning the title are the Miami Heat. Not only are they the defending champs, but they are proving that they can play without their most dynamic player, Dwayne Wade. Most people expected to fall hard after Wade, but in his absence the Heat went on a run. Before yesterday's loss to the Magic the Heat were on a 14 game winning streak at home, and 9 straight overall...both were the longest in the NBA. The Heat are chock full of the two combinations that win championships... defense and experience. You can be sure the Heat are not going to bring Wade back until he is absolutely healthy, and a healthy, fresh Wade spells danger to opposing teams. The Heat will have a fairly easy time disposing of the weak East teams in the playoffs, and we will probably see them in the finals well rested from not enduring long series. You can be sure that whoever comes out of the west will have a long, enduring Western Conference finals because the top teams who would make it there are so evenly matched. My pick for the sleeper team is the Miami Heat for obvious reasons!

I believe that Denver would be the biggest shock if they made the finals. The reason is that everyone is saying that Phili got the better of the A.I. trade as well as for Denver to make it to the finals they will most likely have to beat both San Antonio and Dallas. As we saw the other day, Denver is more than capable of defeating the Suns, but the other two teams have defense and can play in a half court offense. Denver would be the biggest shock and if they are finally gaining the chemistry that was witnessed against the Suns, they might surprise many people.

The spurs, may not sound suprising becuase they are always there but this year NO ONE is even talking about them (or in the west). Its all on Dallas, Suns and the sleeper being Houston with Yao getting healthy. But other then the Mavs. The sleeper Sprus I have as the 2nd best team in the leauge when it comes to the playoffs. They are the most experienced team when it comes to the playoffs all around.

No question about it. The Los Angeles Clippers and the New York Knicks. Both are injury riddled teams, both are clinging to 8 spots, and both have no business being in the finals.

Biggest surprise would be if either Indiana or Golden State made it to the finals, as both are playing below .500. Of course it would be an even bigger surprise if either the Clipper or the Knicks made the playoffs.

The Clippers. I didn't even realize that they where the eight seed. I would say the Knicks, but there are just out of the eight seed in the East.

The Toronto Raptors and Chris Bosh. Why ?
Because nobody expects a Canadian team to win anything.
