people have pets here that got them from like Humane Society or any other pet shelters?

All five of my precious little darlings (kitties) were adopted somehow. Two directly from the Humane Society. The other 3 of the same litter were born of a feral cat who chose to run in our house and give birth in front of our TV!! I've always gotten pets from the Humane society and let them choose ME.

I got, Sadie, from the local humane society. She was 12 weeks old
I needed a dog to train to hear my alarm clock cause I am very hearing impaired.
I adopted her and she slept with me in bed from the very first night. I set my alarm as usual and LO AND BEHOLD...HONEST....when it went off the next morning she was pawing at me. The noise must have bothered her. She has done so now for the last 31/2 years plus.....no training required.
She is my gift from God. She also is blind in one eye but that
does not slow her down. I would not give her up for anyone or anything....she is my best friend and learns other tricks so easily.... I LOVE YOU, SADIE

I have 3 kittens and 1 dog and I adopted them all from shelters. I ADORE animals and I hate the thought of them being locked up in cages somewhere without a home or worse yet, being "put down" because they can't find a home.:(
More people should adopt!!!!

my dog, a beagle/lab/sheperd mix, Miller, came from the humane society. The second i walked in, he came running over, and my heart melted. It was love at first woof. Now, 2 years later, he is still the most important guy in my life and i love him dearly. He even has his own myspace page...you can read more of his story there! :) Honestly, i will probably adopt from the shelter for the rest of my life. Hes the best dog ever...really.

I have two cats I got from our local Animal outreach program..... I have a 9 year old female pitbull that I got it front of the grocery store... and I have a 2 year old French Bull Dog that I got from a local rescue group.....but have never adopted from our local animal controll shelter... maybe next time.

I just recently adopted my cat from the Humane Society. He's so adorable. I'm happy that I saved his life and wish I could have adopted all the animals.

My bf rescued an austrailian shephard. The puppy had been previously adopted but returned because he was nearly impossible to train and REALLY hyper. Plus he would freak out whenever he was left alone as his first owner abandoned him. Two years later he is a much better behaved and happier dog. I want to adopt another one soon!

I have and also got a pet from Hurricane Katrina, I volunteer for the shelter and EARS emergency animal rescue

Currently I have a cat and a dog from the local SPCA (Humane Society). When i was younger i use to volunteer there ALL the time so when i got my own place I only got animals from there.
