This is so easy it's ridiculous!!! You should cover both plus and minus: the plain, obvious one or the clever, in your face one. The first part will be pretty clear cut and the second will give your teacheran unexpected point of view, guaranteed to give you a better grade!!!
Start you paper in a logical way: Colors can make or change moods. Light colors can be soothing and calming. Bright colors can be fun and are mostly used to appeal to children, parties, or childhood memories. Dark colors can make a room look sleek and clean while at the same time be depressing or mood killers. Also, without colors we'd be lost!!! Literally!!! Maps have different colors to symbolize different things, as are color coded diagrams, be they medical or otherwise. Also, it's easier to tell which car or shirt is yours, etc. AND they keep us safe!!! Stop signs are red for a reason... and don't forget traffic lights!!! Without color there'd be more traffic collisions. But just as important, colors make us unique. We all have our favorites and some we detest. They are great conversation starters and a great way to starts or end your day: think sunrises and sunsets.
On the other hand (second hal of your paper) colors can put us on the spot in a negative way. Take into acout the BASIC reason for RACISMS!!! The color differences that make us unique also make us targets for hate and discrimination. People with black or darker skin are discriminated against... i.e. the whole slavery and civil rights issue. People tend to form racial "cliques" and this can be harmful to any society. It makes it easy to hate others just because of a shade of color. Many people have sacrificed their lives because of, you guesse it: COLOR.
You have so much to work with on both issues. You can end it with something like, The importance of color is not just evident in the beauty of nature and the need for us to be different. It is also a factor in the way society views or has treated a number of people, past and present. We need color to be able to tell one thing and each other from the rest of the world, but even a simple thing as color can be damaging to out culture ad history as a whole.
I don't want to get to detailed, as this is your paper, but feel free to use my points, you have my permission. GOOD LUCK!!! It sounds like your teacher was trying to be clever, show him/her what you got!!!

Ok easy.
Answer the following questions:
1. Do you like color?
2. What colors do you like most? spring, fall, summer, winter?
3. What colors do you see most when you see a group of people walking - as in the color of their clothes?
3. What color/s do you like wearing?
4. What colors do you like - but perhaps are afraid to wear?
5. What colors - would you use if you had to paint a picture?
6. What colors do animals have - that you find attractive?
7. What is the importance of color in animals (for example, why is the male cardinal the "Red Bird", and the female not the colorful one)?
8. Why is it known that people are "mad" when they see red?
The most important example is YOUR OPINION. You need to make a statement of what you think is important. What does color mean to you?
then,
use the 1-2-3 Method for writing anything.
1. Tell them what you're going to tell them.
I believe color in the sky is the most expressive when it is - - -
2. Tell them.
When you look at the sky, and it is blue people generally are in a good mood.
When it is grey, people think a storm may be coming.
3. Tell them what you told them.
In summary, I believe color adds to my feeling that all is right with the world. In summer when I see the burst of colors in plants and flowers, I have the happiest feelings about my world.
GOD bless us always.

It would help to know what class it is for but here's where I'd go with it. First, I would write about how color plays an important role in our perception of our environment. Our brains obviously use color to differentiate between different things. Because of this we can use color to categorize different things in our environment. Also, colors can often act as symbols to which we can apply meaning. Red may symbolize "hot" while blue represents "cold". Green may represent "freshness" while white represents "purity". You get the idea. Another way colors are important in nature is that it is important for animals survival. Animals can adapt to their environments by blending in. An example of this is the chameleon. It can change colors to adapt to its environment. Also, many animals use their colors to attract mates by putting on elaborate displays.
Color is important in society for many of the same reasons. What would art be without color? Colors can often play an important role by displaying emotion. Red may represent anger and blue may represent sadness or loneliness. I think color is also important for its aesthetic value. I think it is probably most important for cultural expression. Look at all of the flags of all of the nations. In most cases, the colors on the flags aren't chosen at random. Most of the colors on a flag represent something.
It's just a start but I hope my input is helpful. Good Luck!

Colors in nature often influence how we respond to marketing and other aspects in business, as well as how we relate to each other in society.
A small example of this is the color pink:
- society pins this as a feminine color: soft, nurturing, non-threatening, sensuous, etc.
- this is exploited in advertising toward female audiences.
Pink and most pastels present softness, which hard colors like red might present too strongly -- or incorrectly in general. Red can actually be perceived as violent, as well as passionate.

colour im guessing you mean race. well you can write about he past and present for example the slave trade then more equality but there is still a lot of victimisation. Also recently it has been said that coloured children are treated worse than white people. importance of colour in nature well, im not sure plants to attract different animals. and animals to hide or attract its prey. cuttle fish however are colourful as to attract a mate, so hope this has helped
