I'll have the family in tow, arriving late afternoon. Temptation is to chill out in some bar, but hey, I can do that at home. So, what is the best thing to do that evening, the best place to go for eats, etc.?

there are lots of good restaurants (the names have escaped my mind). But the best thing to do in Tofino is walk on the beach at Long Beach or charter a small sea plane and take an arial tour of the area.
Also, jump on a boat and head over to the hotsprings. And if you can afford it, eat at least once at the Wickininish Inn...the most amazing food I've ever had in my life, anywhere

With its intensive areas and relatively equable climate keeping temperatures moderate throughout every season, Vancouver is really a paradise and today, you have the chance to find it with hotelbye . Vancouver is boasts a busy cultural life. One of many areas worth visited in Vancouver is Granville Island. Once mainly industrial, Granville Island has become a growing center of task with a calm and unique atmosphere. Artists and retailers have transferred in to converted warehouses alongside houseboats, cinemas, galleries, and restaurants. The Granville Island Public Market is among the most popular attractions offering good fresh fruit and vegetables, seafood, and a good selection of other specialties in addition to ready-to-eat items. Not really an area, the arts centre is associated with residential areas by one street and footbridges to the south, and to the Downtown peninsula (across False Creek) by ferry.

Ha ha ha. You make it sound like it's some centre of action.

I'd say meditate at the beach.
