My son is 7 months old and he can do it on his own and has done it a few times before this age (lets say around 5 or 6 months) but he knows that we will hold it for him so he only holds it when he wants to.

Mine started holding his own bottle around 7 months, he is now 13 months and won't let anyone else hold the bottle for him except the last bottle before bed time.

Well my baby is 18 months old and he still doesn't hold his own bottle!(lol lazy or what!) My first held it from like 9 or 10 months and my second was also as lazy as my new little guy. It all depends on the baby and what he/she feels like doing!

I think it varies from child to child... My little guy just started to show an interest in holding his own bottle and he is 4 1/2 months old.

I think generally between four and six months old, but it's different for all babies. My four month old twins are starting to hold theirs, but they have little control over their hands. Sometimes they pull bottle out of their mouths and can't put it back in. I breastfed until they were about 2 1/2 months old.

It all depends.. books and stuff give you a average time frame.. My son started holding his at 4 months, he is 8 months old.. a neighbor's baby who was born the same time as him, he doesnt hold his yet...

mine does it now!! He basically all started on his 4 month bday. in spite of the undeniable fact that, hes breastfed and would not get a ton of bottles so i imagine possibly a formula fed infant may start up earlier sinc they get them more beneficial oftentimes. in case you want him to study basically position his sweet palms on the bottle :) Hell get it ultimately
