Pertaining to What??? Ancient Greece, Modern Greece, Greece through history, Greece as a tourist destination??? What. It is a geographical location in the eastern Mediterranean with a history spanning 15 thousand years. A culture that spans more than 3000 years and has been the mother to western civilization with a good helping hand of the Romans. Tourism is one of the countries main industries so it should not be surprise that it is a fun place to be. During the summer time there are more tourists in Greece than Greeks. I do know that Greece is not the most beautiful place in the world(as claimed by a lot of Greeks-as expected) but there is one thing that is unique to Greece and that is it is a magical place to be.

I have traveled all of Europe and love it all, but 15 yrs ago I went to Greece for the first time I am happy to say that I never loved a place so much, I have been their every summer since then. I am not Greek but, I feel very at home their. The people, the food the awesome history. Greece is the most beautiful place on this planet

In the year 2000 I made my first trip there. I was told by my Greek son inlaw to get off the plane, go with an open mind, take a deep breath and breathe the life of a Greek and enjoy.
This year I make my 8th returning trip to a country I have adopted as my own love. The people are wonderful, the country is wonderful, I find peace there like no where else. You can visit with anyone there over coffee and pass the day and nights. Hearing the men sing at their dinners, or let the music reach your soul you want to get up and dance to it.
I could go on and on......who could not love it so?
On an open, hillside church I lit a candle and made a promise to always bring my love of Greece back....and so far I have been able to.
I have even made my own website called okayyysgreece to show my pictures of some of my trips and friends.

Greece is an amazing country and offers something for everyone...a bustling and busy Athens with great nightlife and cafes and restaurants and such, beautiful islands, history, archeology, the sea, the mountains, the food, the music....ahh, I could go on and on. There are also small villages, sleepy and quiet, if this might be more to your liking. It has become quite expensive, however, but I have lived here for almost 2 years and I love it.

How to express the desperation, indeed perfidiousness of Plaka conviviality during those weeks? The nights so dry and full of flower scents made it an agony to go home to bed. And for those who spent them talking metaphysics, with a forever replenished wine-jar before them, the night lasted until the sun appeared with a surprised air ( as if it was the first time) behind the spars of the Acropolis.

I had a fantastic time visiting your country. I went in August 2006b and just treasured everything there was. I found the people very nice considering many in the world despise us. I can't speak Greek but everyone tried their best to help speak to me in English.
I do have a few odd things to comment about. 1) I noticed that the mullett is a popular hair style. Oh my! 2) You have a lot of nose pickers 3) Cleanliness was something that I was scared of in one restaurant in Crete. They were cleaning the counters throughly and making a sandwich at the same time with the same pair of gloves on. ewwww!
