A lot of it depends on your body chemistry...I have to change mine (.10s) every single week 'cause they just get black with crud. Also, acoustic strings will generally go longer between changes, at least the wound strings. As a rule, if you play every day you should think about changing them at least once a month...how's that sound? :)

It honestly depends on how often you play. Some avid guitarists change them daily. Once or twice every two months for a small amount of daily private playing should keep the quality relatively well. ALWAYS before a gig. No exceptions.

Also, the string you choose matters. I recommend Elixirs.

All depends on how often you play them. If you play a lot and really care about the sound quality, then I would suggest as soon as they either start to loose there metallic color or they lose the sound that they make when they are new. If you don't play a lot and don't care as much about them sounding perfect then once a month should easily suffice.

I change them when they break. If they dont, I reckon about every couple of months, depending on the gauge of the strings and how much you play the guitar.

I use 9's so about every 7 weeks-ish for me.

Also, while the guitar is unstringed, use it as a chance to clean the fretboard. Dunno about yours, but mine gets filthy.
