you should tell your parents ASAP. and your siblings don't have to know you told them. tell your parents to not tell them that you told them. tell them to say they found out from the school.

nothing like that will turn out good. since you are the oldest one, you will be the one that gets in trouble if anything happens. it's better if you tell your parents.

When I was that age, I did it too! Only my parents weren't even out of town, just out for the nite! Those were the good ole days. I'm from a small town and one of the neighbors ALWAYS called my parents and clued them in but it was all for fun and if I could go back, would probably do it again!! I had a 8 year old sister that I always had to keep, so she got locked in her bedroom. What she couldn't see, she couldn't repeat! I was bad, but young and having the time of my life!

Do NOT let your siblings throw the party. Tell your parents about it. Idea: when people start showing up at your house, be the first to answer the door and tell them that there is no party, go home.

Sweetie it's very nice to see that you are so responsible but I really don't think you can stop them without involving your parents. If they really don't want to listen to you and wish to go ahead with this party I do believe you must inform your parents but you could do this with out your siblings knowing that you told. You could leave a clue out for your parents to see or if you go directly to them and let them know, tell them that you would prefer that your siblings did not know that you informed them. But you should definitely put a stop to this because it really is risky to do this without adult supervision because you all are just kids and I am sure that 'un-invited elements' will turn up at this party, not just people your age. You don't know what could happen.

tell your parents, and make sure they put a stop to it.
you are 17 and you r are being left in charge of your 3 other siblings?? then if they have a party it will be *YOU* who gest the blame from your parents.
you siblings should be sent to stay with a relative or a relative should come and stay at your home if possible.
your parents are obviously puting alot on trust in all of you's to allow you to stay at home while they go away - dont ruin that trust. my friend had a party and it got totally out of hand - it happens so so easily, she got grounded for ages and had to pay for all the things that got ruined in the house, out of her birthday and pocket money - you do not want that .

Depending on the maturity level of your sibs, yes you could be...however...considering the general reaction to the words "house party" in a High School, and the likelihood of a couple hundred kids trying to trash your house, all in the name of a good drunken brawl...er, party - and the possibility of additional "family problems" developing...

No...you are UNDER reacting, if anything.

Well, what kind of party is it? Are they planning on having alcohol? If not, I think you could let them have some people over, but if it gets out of hand you need to kick people out or just end the party all together. You may also want to be the one to answer the door, and you can say who can come in and who can't. I'm sure you know most of the people in your school, and whether or not they will behave.

Tell your parents.
They can tell your siblings that they suspect they may have a party and have asked your neighbours to keep an eye on the place, say that they will get in touch with them if they see signs of a party.

You have to show your parents that you are trustworthy, and this kind of thing will earn you favours for later...

Tell your parents before they leave. maybe they can get a chaperone for your sibs for the weekend. I bet your parents would appriciate your telling them and make it clear to them that you dont want your sibs knowing you told.

Just tell your parents about it, that should stop the party before it starts.
