First click open start, then scroll until you find the adware icon and check there first to see it if has an uninstall feature on it. If it does, click on it then follow the instructions for removal.
If no uninstall is on the adware icon, go to your control panel, click it open, locate add and remove programs, click on it, wait til all the different program are loaded, then scroll to adware, high lite adware program, make sure, then removed and follow the instructions.

Best freeware is "Adaware" by Lavasoft. Also good is Spybot Search and Destroy. BEWARE! Many purported freeware removal tools are actually "rogues" which just install their own adware.

1) If you have not already scanned your comp with spybot http://spywarekiller.hyperboards.com/index.php?action=view_topic&topic_id=4 do that now .Update it http://www.spybot.info/en/howto/update.html (latest updates on 14th march 2007) and then run it so it gets rid of all the spyware and trojans in safe mode http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial61.html
then run AVG Anti-Spyware Free

2) Do an online virus scan to check and remove virus and spyware if you still have viruses on your computer. And let us know if the online virus scan still finds any virus or spyware .

SpyBot...It is free and it works. Thats all I can say I believe in running it often. It detects and shreds and spyware that is on your computer.
