The normal wait time for an accurate pregnancy test is around 2 weeks after conception - (Conception can take place as long as 5 days after intercourse)! This is because you need to wait for the level of hCG to build up enough in your system and urine to be detected! Therefore, you tested too early! I tested a few days before missing my period - and it was negative! However, I waited 4 days, and tested again - POSITIVE!

you can't trust a negative if you tested at 12 days past ovulation, of course it's it's a positive result, that's much different.. while some people get a positive test that soon, others don't.. once an egg is fertlized it needs anywhere from 3-7 days to travel down the fallopian tube and burrow itself into the lining of your uterus, you don't start producing HCG (the pregnancy hormone) until this implantation occurs, then it's usually detectable in the blood about 24 hrs and the urine at 48+ hrs after this has happened. that's why the differences in when a person can test and get a positive result. Best of luck to you! if you have high speed, watch this program from Nova, it's awesome!

it depends on the pregnancy test that you used - most say on the box that you must wait until your missed period. I have the First Response pregnancy test box in front of me, and it says you can test up to 5 days before your period is due.

Go get that one..it's the pink box.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for the both of us.
