Well i know someone who got a DUI, he was drunk driving and well thought he was gonna make it home, but it happens he got pulled over by the cops...he never hit no one, and did nothing bad but was driving while intoxicated with Alcohol.

Is there anything else he can get other than going to jail? Like being on a probation?

I guess it depends upon what state or country you live in, but in many cases, yes, you will go to jail if you're caught.

It will vary from state to state. It will also depend on his BAC (blood-alcohol content).

There is a possibility of jail time - could be anywhere from days to months. There's a good chance your friend will lose his license for a good 6 months or more (work privileges aren't a given either), his auto insurance will drop him and he'll be reinstated at a ridiculous rate for at least three years. Some states also require a special license plate on your car that signals that you've received a DUI, and yes, the police WILL pull you over more often if you have one -- I've seen it happen to enough people.

Again, the laws will vary from state to state.

By the way, if he was accident free, as you state, proper grammar would be that he didn't hit ANYONE, not "he never hit no one." Furthermore, to say that driving under the influence is nothing bad is a VERY scary attitude. I really hope you give that one some thought.

right it incredibly is the fashionable actuality approximately this concern, using decrease than the impression of something it incredibly is against the regulation. In California there are a number of people who get into extreme issues of the DMV, the city police, the county police, and the state and federal police because of the fact a DUI is going on your using checklist, and DUI is not any guffawing nor easy rely. between the golden rules approximately using is that in case you will force, force, yet do no longer force while you're taking any sort of drug or alcohol, because of the fact many people are transforming into to be killed on the line by ability of a inebriated driving force or a dope consumer who drives and hence you will pass to penitentiary, then detention center, then when you're released from custody you have a bad rap with the dep. of autos, so, then, you will would desire to apply another ability of public transportation, cuss you could no longer force returned for a protracted time until eventually you could tutor which you're unlikely to ingest something unlawful and which you will force effectively returned.

Where I live it is an automatic $1000 fine and one year suspension for a first offense. I heard that in some parts of the world you get caught driving drunk and they haul you out of your car and shoot you in the head. So, somewhere in between I'm thinking.

Yes he should go to jail. And his license taken from him. Have you ever heard of the organization M.A.D.D. If you or your friend are not familiar with it. Look it up.

it depends on what state you live in. in NC you get a suspended sentence but you get community service a hefty fine and the supension of your driver license for a year, but you can recive a worker permit which allows you to drive during a specific time frame, driving outside that time frame is just like driving with out a license or DDR (driving durung revocation)

Well, I did 120 days in jail, but it was for a second one....

If it's his first one, and he didn't hit anybody or cause damage to anything, he'll likely get a fine, probation, and have his license suspended.

Yes if they feel like making an example out of him.

By the way, there is no reason to drive drunk. So whatever comes to him, he'll deserve.
