I was eating my lunch, and two army recruiters came up to me. They wanted to give me their business cards, and I told them "No thank you, I have a job where I get to keep my life, thank you". I said it very politely, and they laughed at me. And then tried to give me their cards anyway. I wouldnt take them. I have a friend that just went back to Iraq for the second time, and he dosent think he is coming back. His family and fiancee have already made plans for him in case he dosent. I support our military, honestly, I do. But I just dont want to join because of the current situation in our government. So was I wrong in what I said? Opinions please?

No way I think your comeback was most excellent!!! (and very true) Those recruiters are ridiculously aggressive and they should have left you alone. The recruiters are disgusting I even seen them in one of the Micheal Moore movies acting in this overly aggressive manner while trying to get recruits (I think it was Fahrenheit 911) Good for you for standing up to those d*&^%!!!!! Hope your friend comes back safe!!

There is nothing wrong with how you feel! I would feel the same way. That is why we live in this country. If you want to fight then go ahead but dont push it on anyone just bec they are running out of people for this war either in deaths or bec the men and women who are there and come back dont want to do it again.

No.. i don't think you were. I completely understand. I feel so badly for everyone over there. I know they are trying so hard to make a better life for Iraq, but at the expense of their own lives. I ache for them. I think it's time they come home to their families. Iraq will either sink or swim.

You expressed your feeling in a polite to the point way and I don't feel you are wrong. If I had a son , I would want him to stay home at this point also. It has gone way too far and we are losing to many men. Don't worry about what other people think, what matters is that you made a decision and sttod by it.

No! You have strong moral beliefs and that is a lot more important than civil duties (in my opinion.)
