In addition to refugiot's list include a smart board (a white board that you write on with the dry erase markers and can print out what is on the board before you erase it), desks with a section where the student writes on and the teacher can see what is written on it from his/her computer, textbooks on DVD 9or even jump drives), but most importantly a knowledable and well trained teacher who is paid well.

I think all math at all levels should be taught from the learning style of the student. Kind of like classes for lovers of math and classes for haters of math, which of course would include much much more manipulative's, concrete, not monkey math. I love math, but as a teacher learned how to use manipulative's.Here was an enlightening example, One day I asked my students to each count out 50 small tiles for our project in math that day. When they were ready and I looked around, on each desk I could see like so many ways they had used, and it made me realize how differently each brain processes the same task. Some counted by 2's, some by piles of 5,some by 10's, some by 2 piles of 25, and so forth. It was one of the best learning experiences for me as a teacher to get a good grasp of how different each mind works.
