He's not so much cold as he comes off he is working on the english but even when they cut away you'll see in his native language he still has that way abot him. As odd as it may seem thats just how he talks. It may surprise the questioner to know that out of all the current F1 drivers he best known as a party animal outside of work, there was an articile in F1 magazine telling a drunken story about him involving an inflatable dolphin Kimi just replies "dont ask" now tell me what cold person would have a drunken story involving an inflatable dolphin. Schumi didn't have one of those and I did notice the hamilton snub I dont know what that was all about but anytime Raikkonen does well he tends not to go crazy he seems generally exhausted directly after the races, its all the years of Michael never sweating thats throwing everything off

The most amazing thing about this is how many people only seem to have noticed this about Kimi now that he is in a red suit! Maybe it's that the red suit creates more contrast and you expect something hotter while his old white suit allowed him to blend in? Just wondering!

Not all Finnish people speak with such a flat affectation, but many I've know seem to have that problem with English. I suspect you are seeing a small part Finnish culture, some of Kimi's own laid back attitude with the press, and the fact that English is not his native language.

Personally, I've always gotten a kick out of his deadpan delivery when answering questions. Though as it is possible we'll be seeing him on the podium quite often now, it will probably wear thin. But so what... as long as he puts on great displays behind the wheel, I don't really care how he talks.

That is just the region from where he comes from. He doesn't get caught up in the B.S. and politics in the sport. I respect that. I would rather have a Kimi on my team that can win and get the job done with no excuses than a Villenuve who shoots off his mouth about anything and everything. And for those you think that Mika was a barrell of fun, obviously, you don't know. Look at his interviews, he was just as straight foward as Kimi. Yeah, he is not the best interviewer, but he does one thing that counts, he wins. That is what this sport is about. Who can win. And that is what Kimi does. Nothing more, and nothing less.

I would say that he has a cold selfish personality. I don't think it has anything to do with being from Finland. There was another Finnish driver named Mika Hakkinen, 1998 and 1999 F1 World Champion, He drove for West McLaren Mercedes. He was funny and enjoyed talking to the press and was not scared to speak to fellow drivers. In conclusion Kimmi is a retard.

Professional would to me intimate being somewhat interesting, which "Iceman" is far from. I swear I almost saw him begin to smile after the Melbourne race, but my eyes must have been playing tricks on me, as it was late here in the US. I think Kimi's handlers have written three different sets of remarks for him, one for winning, one for losing, and one for having your engine blow up like it had a hand grenade in the manifold. That is it! Mika seems like Jay Leno compared to Kimi.

See I've been a fan of Kimi since he came into F1 and am highly vexed by his defection to the dreaded Ferrari........ however I still think he's nowhere near as dull as folk make out, as was pointed out above, everyone thought Hakkinen was dull, when in fact if you took the time to listen to him he was really quite amusing. I think Kimi is maybe just a tad up himself (but lets face it most F1 drivers are, surrounded as they are by sycophants), but a lot more charismatic than he appears.

he is so cold and care factor.
Lewis hamilton went to sheke his hand as the kid was so excited to get a podium, and Raikkonen just brushed him off.
As much as i hated Scummacher at least he would have walked up and congratulated the guy.
His personality reflects the team he drives for.

he probably is just bored by the media, and tries not to offend anyone. a good idea on his part. If he doesnt have heaps of charisma, why force it and make himself look fake/like an idiot.

Boring is better than stupid and brash.

at least hes pretty humble, and doesnt seem like a terrible guy. something rare in pro athletes today.

Its just the way he is during the weekend of a race, totally focused. Apparently away from the track he is a totally different person.
