3 hours ago I posted a question pertaining to the site myspaceforteens which I made for my 3 teens so I can keep a eye on them while chatting with there friends, my question to the community was is there anything else I may do to make it even safer(I put password protected password chatroom on the site for that reason) I got 7 good answers (all positive except one) who promptly states "I DONT CARE IF YOUR KIDS ARE SAFER. I HAVE ALREADY REPORT YOU TO MYSPACE AND WHEN THEY FIND OUT THERE GOES YOUR KIDS SAFETY AND YOUR 5 MONTHS OF WORK ." Well I do not have ONE MONEY GENERATING AD on that site and do not make ONE PENNY off that site I have spent $3K so I can keep a eye on my kids (my teens friend recently meet up with a stalker because of this issue) and is what promted me to do this. How can someone have the nerve to not only be critical of a father protecting his kids but also have the nerve to shut down my hard work and my kids own site? My kids are devasted there site might be gone.

I admire your work to get this working as safe as possible
but I'm pretty sure it will not work the way you're planning
this. And honestly. I don't understand parents who try. This
is futile. Keeping kids safe of adult content or chatboards
or whatever you suit inappropriate is perfectly fine. But with
teens this is going to be "run the gauntlet". You will lose.
Basically because your kids are not on your side with this
meassures. When you were a kid. Did you wanted your
dad to "monitor" your talks with your friend? I don't think
so. And it's naive to believe they will think otherwise.
That guy surely was a moron but he clearly showed one
thing. Your safety might not be working too well.
IMO the best aproach is to talk with your teens about this
problem and to make them understand why revealing
personal information like address, phone number or
family name might not be a very good idea on the net.
If they got this chances are pretty good they will do fine
even if they get into a situation when they're faced with
a predator or whatever bad thing just happened.
You cannot protect your kids from life. You can only
try to give them the best tools to manage it. And keeping
them in a virtual safehouse probably is not the best start.

if you want to keep your children safe, send them to their mother.
i think you've been watching too much dateline. take a chill pill, and stop with all the bizarre safety precautions. i have a feeling your children are eventually going to get paranoid and distracted, and start worrying about the wrong things in life. just like their father.
unfortunately, there are predators out there. now try and come up with a logical solution that doesn't involve a bunch of bologna. Statistically at this point, it appears that you children are more likely to develop some kind of anxiety problem, before a perv manages to molest them... So just talk to your kids and then tell them how these people work and what they do. Then teach your children that they should think out there problems logically, rather than overreact and waste 3K because they're scared.

I would cease internet use in your house for a cooling off period. AOL is so safety proofed, that use of that is probably your best bet. Utilizing a $40 software program like Net Nanny, or something equal that the children can't bypass could be an option of locking down your computer. I would not allow my teens on Myspace if they are having a problem. Also be aware of the many social networking sites like, "Facebook, Friendster, Blackplanet etc."
Good Luck!

your best bet is to all together just not let your kids go onto sites like that at all. just keep them off the computer. if you dont want them to run into the possability of running into predators then you need to keep them locked up away from society. everyone out there is not perfect. and some people use bad judgement to drive them in a certain direction. on the other hand the situation you face with the person who wants to shut your site off is kind of out of line.. i mean you're only trying to protect your kids. but either way. you cant make them super safe forever. you just need to teach your kids better judgement. they need to learn to ask more questions and be more defensive. anyway. i hope this kind of gives you piece of mind. feel free to contact me i'm on your side. good luck. i hope your site works well

I don't think anything will happen to the site, sure myspace could sue you or make you take it off. The question is why would they, it's not like your website can really take away all their population. I think you have a great idea and thanks for making the web safer for kids!

Of course Not!
Predators are dangerous. They have a laser and can make themselves invisible. Oh, and they have that nuclear device thing . Arnold barely escaped one, how do you expect a kid to survive???

I've spoken to this guy via email and, while I don't agree with some of his business decisions, he does seem genuine about his kids. My apologies for being a brat.
