There's a reason they call things "Old wives tales", because they are things that people used to believe, but have been disproven with actual science. You could have a girl like the cotton says, but you have a 50/50 shot, not very convincing. It's like flipping a coin, sometimes you'll guess right, and sometimes you wont.

If you want yo know the sex of the baby, how about you get a ultrasound or whatever it is they use now. If you want reliable information, don't go to old superstitious stories, go to a scientist!

The wedding ring/cotton was right for me, the scan confirmed a boy. Of course the scan could be wrong (v.small chance), and in which case the baby is going to have to get used to wearing the blue clothes Ive already got!

No harm in having a bit of fun. There's always a 50/50 chance of it being right! Try it another day and see what happens.

Well, if any of those Old Wive's Tales were actually true, I would have three sons instead of three daughters. It is kind of fun to try to guess your baby's sex, but don't put your belief in it!

My friend did it and it predicted a boy and also she carried all up front and high which is apparently a boy, but she had a girl.
