You are most likely just pulling the stick out and you should not do that. When you plug in the stick and icon appears on your taskbar towards the right (along the bottom of the screen where the clock is located) to let you know that the stick was successfully installed and can be manipulated. When you are done using the stick you need to click (double click or right-click) to get to the option to stop the USB device from running. You choose to device then choose stop by clicking on the stop button and in a few seconds a message should pop up to tell you that it is safe to remove the device. This should solve your problem if you have not already damaged the device by not removing it properly.

good luck

You need to ask the computer's permission before yanking out the flash drive (what you call the memory stick). The computer must know before you take it out so it can finish transferring the data from the 'queue' to the drive. That's most probably what's going on.
If you have actuallly been clicking the little tiny icon that says "Safely remove hardware" and it is still doing it, then there are other problems going on.
