Jeff was released from WWE on April 22, 2003. The reasons given for the release were Jeff's erratic behavior, frequent drug use, refusal to go to rehab, deteriorating ring performance, as well as constant tardiness and no-showing events.

He was on drugs so WWE fired him but because back then TNA was a new company they needed some talent so they hired Jeff and they didn't care whether he was on drugs or not.

He was showing up late to events, and not showing up in any condiction to wrestle on off TV nights. He was getting high! They told him get help or get out. So he left. He said he was leaving to be in a band? What band I don't have a clue! Even when he first went to TNA he was showing up late and in no condiction to wrestle.
I'm glad he seems to have his act together now.

He wanted to take a year out to concentate on motocross and finish his motocross track. In his backyard.

he was doing drugs so the wwe let him go. now that hes clean they hired him back
