I think there are certain things that once you become involved with someone that are deemed as inappropriate. A few weeks ago I posted a question about whether or not is was appropriate behaviour for a married man to be text messaging other "women friends" and most of the responses to that question were a resounding, "No".

If you are casually dating someone, than no, I don't think there is anything wrong with having friends of the opposite sex. But at some point, when the rlatinship goes to the next level, I think most are uncomfortable with it. I don't think its healthy to have friendships with members of the opposite sex who aren't ALSO friends with your partner.

For more on what other people had to say about this, check out the answers to my question and the follow-up question I asked. A lot of the people who said there was nothing wrong with it, were guys. But also, a lot of guys also felt it was inappropriate. I had some very interesting feedback on this topic!

Stopped talking to, no. Stopped hanging out with alone, yes. Friends are friends, and they have a important place in our lives, but I don't go the movies alone with my guy friends or have dinner at their places they way I used to. That'd be disrespectful of my b/f.

I agree. I enjoy my friends of the opposite sex. They are more fun to be around because they aren't petty, and they don't borrow my stuff! And they make me laugh!

It relies upon. Is that guy or woman supportive of your relationship, do they say irrelevant issues, is there sexual rigidity there? I extremely have stored in touch with opposite intercourse friends who act properly and are supportive of my relationship. a number of them at the instant are getting married themselves, so any final crushes or flirtation is not any longer a controversy. people who regarded fascinated in me romantically and criticized my relationship I extremely have distanced myself from plenty. truthfully if the friendship can stay platonic or grow to be platonic if there grow to be as quickly as romantic pastime there, I extremely have staid friends. for persons that isn't be able to look to circulate into platonic friendships with the different guy or woman no longer having ulterior motives, then i pick to maintain my distance. i do no longer possibly prefer to place myself in a volatile difficulty or extremely be friends with somebody who would not help my relationship. regrettably I got here to understand a number of my friendships with different adult men have been consistent with them being fascinated in me and form of hoping i might unload my fiance. that's basically no longer a friendship i prefer to maintain up with.
