Even if they do live together, there's still tension between them.

They do get along...I have 3 dogs and 3 kitties, and they all get along just fine! They even play together. Perhaps you should try including both cat and dog when playing, and make sure they all the the same amount of attention, and plenty of toys. Mine chase each other down halls and around the rooms. Just spend as much time with them together as you can...and hopefully in time it'll work out.

Mine get along. The dog protects the cat and they sleep together in the dog house. Sometimes they compete for attention, but it would be the same if there were 2 of the same species.

Dogs and cats get along if they are raised around each other. The reason they don't get along is that cats are very teritorial and they don't like dogs or even humans to be in their space. My cat attacks dogs on his turf and also people he doesn't like.

I have 5 cats and a dog, and they get along great. No problems whatsoever. They r all different ages, and do they own thing.

my 4 cats and my dog get along fine and its not like we got my dog a cats when they were babies so its not like they grew up together. my dog and my youngest cat are bestest friends!!! they love each other!
