well, most colleges make you score at a certain level (usually a 3) on the AP test (not the class), as given by college board (kind of like the SATs and all those other test), so you would have the official scores of that test sent to the school you are going to be attending. to do that you can either contact college board or fill out (on the test) the code of the college you want the score sent.

however, i have to point out that the answer above me says you would start out witha 4.0, but that is not the case, because the universities credit you with the class, but not with the grade. so you could start with 16 credits (or whatever the schools says is a full semester) before you take any classes, but you wouldnt have anything altered in your gpa.

if you check out the college you are planning on attending, they should have info on it, and you can also check with your counseling office at school.

You submit the transcript(s) from the colleges that are giving the AP credit for the high school classes. To get the AP credit, you would have had to pay an extra fee to some college, so they will have your transcript for the AP class. (Ask at your igh School). Then you get the credits when you start college, if you send them the AP transcript. You will get those credits with an "A" for a grade. The same happens when you transfer colleges. All of the credits that transfer come in as an "A" so you start with a 4.0 grade point for all of those credits!

To earn college credit for an AP class, you will first need to take the AP exam in that subject, and pass with a score of 3 or more (on a scale of 1 to 5).
You don't get college credit for just taking the course. You also need to pass the AP exam in that subject. Exams are given in June.
