This is why nobody NOW can replace Jordan. He actually played in a league of men. He really got hacked, slapped, banged up, and still came at you 100 MPH. Watch an ESPN classic game and see. The league now is soft. If you look at Dwayne Wade the wrong way they put him on the foul line. Every offensive player now is HIGHLY PROTECTED. You know what Jordan had to go through to get past the Pistons? To get past the Suns, the 90s Knicks, or worse the Jazz? Every free throw attempt was earned. I'm sorry but Dwayne Wade's 45 point game is not the same as Jordan's 45 point game in 1996. Out of Wades 45 points(and I do like Wade a lot btw, but truth is truth) 10-15 of his points are "gimmies." So no, nobody will ever replace Jordan. David Stern has made the NBA's elite look like bunch of powder puffs to me. Jordan was the real thing

I think the real question is why are we still living in the past. MJ's playing days are done and we have a ton of talent in the league right now. Instead of reminiscing on this one man we should appreciate the huge amount of talent the NBA has right now. Attendance numbers and jersey sales are up from where they were when Jordan played and the ratings as well as those other 2 figures are at all time highs for the league. We don't need a replacement for Jordan, the game is doing just fine according to these figures. People lie, numbers don't.

the reason MJ will never be replaced is because there is too much talent in the NBA today. Jordan came at the perfect time, when there weren't many stars in the L. Magic and Bird were on their way out. Barkley, too controversial. Clyde, please. Bad Boys: too team orientated. There was really only one star to look at in the NBA for such a long period of time that could do the things Jordan could do. Nowadays, everything Jordan did, someone can do, and prolly better. Maybe not in one complete package, except Kobe, but there is no one person that will dominate everyone imagination the way MJ had it. If you wanna see someone hang in the air, catch Kobe Bryant. Wanna see someone dunk over a center, watch VC. You got killer crossovers by AI and Wade. Then there's Lebron, Melo, KG. Want some Dee, you got the Prince. Buzzer beaters, Kobe, AI, Melo, T-mac, Wade. There is just too many superstars in today's game for one person to every garnish as much attention as Jordan had. Sure, to be fair, Jordan had some comp from Nique and Clyde, but that's it, and realistically, they weren't much comp. If Jordan played in today's era, then he would be another Superstar in a long line of superstars. Don't get me wrong now, Jordan is bad, one of the best ever, but his "god-like" auro that he has is only because he was ahead of his time. There is just no way people would look at jordan the way we do now, if he played during this era, not with VC dunking over top of a 7footer. Or Kobe dropping 81. True, there will never be another Jordan, because the L is so diversified, and no one star will be able to shine over any other to that much extent

I think the closest any player has got to Michael Jordan is Kobe Bryant. He has broken or tied many of MJ records and set some of his own.
MJ and him are good friends, had the same coach and mentor, and are great shooters, especially in high-pressure situations. They both can split multiple defenders.
MJ definitely had better jumping skill. He could take off from the foul line and slam the ball.
I think it would have been great to pit these two players at their primes against each other. I think it might be very close.

MJ was very talented. Iverson, last year, got 31 points a game, or something like that, and Lebron's fake nickname is Jordan Jr. That's what I heard.
