I am overweight and married. Couldn't be happier in my marriage. My husband loves me the way I am. When I have asked him if he wants me to lose weight, he tells me that he loves me and if I want to do it for myself then go ahead. You have to be happy with yourself to be happy in life.

Well. I believe this is a rather silly question (no offence!). If you consider the fact that there are billions of people on our planet, and around a quarter of them are overweight (or so the goverment would have us believe...), then what are the chances that not one of them would be happily married and have a great private life??
I myself am not particularly overweight, but am a bit on the chubby side. However, I know many overweight women that have extremely happy and fulfilling relationships, a great sex life, beautiful children, and hell, even say that "Bigger is better!".
there are also many men that fancy larger ladies, and would never even look twice at a skinny minny. Everyone has their preferences, after all. In some cultures, larger women are considered far more attractive.
There is no reason why an overweight woman cannot lead a happy life, if she is confident, she will exude that to other people. Take the Lead singer of "The Gossip" for example, she believes she is the sexiest woman alive, and has even been voted as such in a couple of mens magazines, and she's a fairly large woman.
All in all though, we have to remember that being overweight can ultimately lead to early death and many health complications. But as long as an overweight woman also exercises and leads an active life, then why shouldn't she be happy?
Happiness is not something determined by your weight, it comes from within, from your self esteem. Even if you don't feel too great, a simple smile can lead others to believe otherwise. There are many beautiful, large women with bags of confidence and gorgeous husbands. All you have to do is walk through a shopping mall to see that for yourself!
There are also many lingerie companies that cater for plus sizes, so there is no excuse to wear drab, un-sexy underwear to please the man in your life.
I hope you have found this useful, I know I can't speak for myself, but I can speak for my "Big Buddies" when I say that it is indeed possible to be overweight and happily married with a wonderful private life.
So next time any of you skinny readers are on a bus or in a restauraunt, and cast your eyes upon an overweight person and feel that usual pang of pity, just remember that she may be doing the same to you!

Depends what you mean by overweight - I am currently a UK size 16 and am losing weight at the moment (a stone so far) it's because I am unhappy with the way I look, not because I am unhappy with anything else in my life.
I have been happily married for 10 years and my weight has gone from a size 10 to a size 16 several times over the years but I do have 3 kids, my husband says he prefers the curvier lady but if I do ever get to a size 10 again an he says that, I'll bash him with a rolling pin! Men!

I am overweight and have been my whole life. Started gaining weight when I was 7. I had a miserable time being teased about my weight but still managed to be in the marching band and have friends. I didn't date much. But I have been married now for almost seven years. My husband loves that I have a little "junk in the trunk". I thought no one would ever find me attractive or want to marry me. It took me a while but I did find happiness in my self. My goal now is not to lose weight but be healthy at whatever size I am.

If you are happy that is all that counts. A lot of men and women seek to lose weight for someone else. It's not worth it. If someone doesn't like me or one me for who and what I am...the heck with them too. There is always someone to love everyone. I have many friends that are happily married and one or the other is overweight. I have a girlfriend that weights almost 400 pounds and she is very happily married. Remember, do it for yourself and no one else.

I am overweight and very happily married. I am also very comfortable with myself and confident in my every day life. I believe that TV and magazines have posted an unrealistic standard on what women should look like. As long as you are happy with yourself so what the rest of the world thinks.

I am cosidered overweight-a size 16 and I am happy. I was a size 20/22 and very unhealthy. Now I am happy, healthy and 46 years old. People can't believe I'm that old and think I'm in my 30's. I believe as long as if you are happy with yourself it's okay. Just love yourself no matter what shape or size.

Yes of course! What a silly question! Self esteem and inner happiness are not found on a dress label! By the BMI rating, I'm obese but I'm in great shape, love my curves and so does my husband!
I take it from your question that you don't think it's possible - if that's how you feel, I'd recommend doing some real soul-searching about why you choose to believe this and what the consequences of such a belief are.
