In the early 80's Ford made a Mazda based mini truck called the Courier. They are probably rarer than parts for your B2000. The Courier used a 1600 cc Mazda Motor and a 2300 cc Ford Pinto motor.
A Ford 2000 or 2300 cc four from the same era as your truck would probably be the easiest to convert and replace your B2000.

The B2000 used only the 2.0L 4 cyl engine.

That engine, rebuilt, is available from autozone with prices ranging from $1800 to $2000 including core charges.

For that year, you'll want to replace it with the same thing. Make sure it is a 2.0l truck engine.

Ford and Mazda pickups did not share engines for that particular year.
