Actually he was a very big ladies man according to rumour and he is a bit of a lothario, but that haircut from about 1970- present day is just a sin. He was never my favorite player and I never bought into the 120% approach he had to the game baseball is not an all out battle like football it is a marathon where if you get to up or to down for any one game, unless it is a very important game, you will kill yourself, that being said he did play every game at a very high intensity level and he was relatively injury free.

Always ugly, and not terribly bright. I loved Bob Feller's comments on him recently too. Pete the Cheat, Charlie Hustler, whatever - he belongs in the parking lot across the street from the Hall of Fame selling autographs for $75 a pop so he can feed his gambling addiction. He's not just a liar - he's a damned liar.

Yeah, Pete was never big with the ladies, rumor has it his face coming around third scared Ray Fosse as bad as the collision in the all star game. Still, he's baseball's all time hits leader, and all time leader in doubles, he belongs in the hall. Damned ugly plaque though, imagine that mug shot in bronze, Auugh.

Not only is he ugly, but completely overrated in my opinion.
Yes, he's the all-time hits leader, but that only shows he rarely got injured. He barely managed to hit .300 lifetime with all those hits, and his onbase percentage is laughable. No power and a shakey fielder (which is why they never really found a position for more than a couple of years in a row).
Couple that with the gambling, lying about the gambling, coming clean about lying the week before his book came out to boost sales... it goes on and on.
My vote is no hall for lil' Petey.

Yeah, but he can kick your butt, and he is in a hall of fame, just not the MLB Hall of Fame.
Did you know Pete Rose is in the celbrity wing of the WWF/WWE wrestling hall of fame?

He may be ugly but he was one of the best ball players out there. And, he should be recognized for that.

Yes. However, they don't want him in the HOF because he's a disgrace to the game.
