I heard the TV minister Joel Osteen this week. He says the
people we call friends and associates influence us very
much. That is why we should "keep our distance" from
some people. The good influencing people we should
"hang around with" more. (but- I think we kind of knew that
already. ) Also he said their "bad spirits" could start to inhabit
us!!

It's peer pressure. Easily led. Trying to be accepted. Some people will be this way at great cost to themselves. They need to learn to stand on their own and this is all part of the learning process. Some lessons have to be learned the hard way. Experience is the best teacher.

It means that they are easily swayed by what that person says or does... basically under their spell... Everything that they want or desire will try to be met by the vulnerable person...

I guess it means they get affected by someone's else attitudes and thoughts easily without maybe thinking them over,and they might act and think like them too.that's how i understand this sentence.
