'24' on A&E is presented in full screen, not the wide screen it was originally broadcast in. Also shows like Everybody Loves Raymond and Scrubs that are rerunning look to be of poorer quality.

I have heard something once when I saw Roseanne bar on Larry King that when a show is put into syndication things have to be taken out and edited based on tv ratings. Also I think they have to be shortened b/c of more commericials. Which can make them appear with a poorer quailty because they have been chopped up so to speak.
I know its defnitely true for Sex and The City, so much of it was edited for regular tv and there didn't used to be commericials when it originally aired on HBO.

I don'tr think they were preserved properly. I also have an issue with Angel and episodes of Charmed. Infact today on a repeat of an angel episode the tape or dvd or whatever they used at TBS was really screwed up and after the comercial they showed the same thing again including the messed up part. Unfortunetly for me it was an episode I never saw so now I'll never know what happened unless I purchase the box set.
