kite is made by excluding triangles AEF & CDE which are each one sixth of hexagon ie 10 so kite is 60-20=40

Say the centre point of the hexagon is given the letter Z.

The regular hexagon contains 6 equilateral triangles inside, each with the are of 10.

When drawing the kite shape ABCE, it will include 2 of these equilateral triangles - ABZ and BCZ giving an area of 20 so far.

The triangles AEZ and CDZ complete the kite shape. We therefore need to know the area of these.

If you look at the regular hexagon, we can se that the 2 triangles AFZ and EFZ make up a regular kite with an area of 20. As the shape is regular, we can see that triangle AEZ is exactly half of the kite AZEF.

The same can be said for the triange CDZ giving an extra area of 20.

Add the areas of ABZ and BCZ to AEZ and CDZ giving you a total area of 40!!!!!

And if that makes sense to you without a picture, you've got a better brain than me, because I had to draw it to explain it!!!!

A hexagon is a customary polygon with six aspects. If u study its centre u'll discover that there will be six triangles that are equivalent. discover the component of one of those triangles. discover the sum of the areasof the six triangles and this might provide the component of the hexagon.
