the nature is that we see all others to be just like ourselves, a thief is always convinced others may steal from him. in Sanskrit this is called Atmavan Duryate Jagat, seeing everyhting through the filter of the ego. Much the same as a person wearing a pair of red sun glasses sees everything to be red.

No, I see who I wish i was, and who I'm glad I'm not, but i rarely notice anyone who reminds me of myself. Maybe i don't really know myself well enough. Or maybe we just take ourselves as a base line, to compare everyone else too, so only really notice exceptional people.
