How did you feel/what was going on with you the few days before you went into labor?
I had real-thing contractions irregularly all day yesterday, and now nothing. I'm close to my due date and antsy and bored, just wanting to hear from other ladies. I've read all the early signs of labor, just want to hear yours....Thanks ; )

LOL!!! I was like that for 2 weeks before my doctor induced due to my dilation and effacement and blood pressure with my last baby. Just wanted to let you know that it's normal. Usually, before I really go into labor, a few days before I don't eat much, feel kinda queasy all day, have diarrhea- I know gross huh?- and just feel really yucky. Then next day, I usually feel really good, have lots of energy and feel like I could do just about anything. I usually go into labor either that night or the start of the next day. Usually the last day I do feel more contractions and more cramping sensations.

With my first girl, I went into preterm labor at 27 weeks. They stopped it, and I was on bed rest for 8 weeks. At 36 weeks, my water broke and she was born 7 hours later!! With my second, at my 36 week check, I was dilated to a 3, 80% effaced and the babies head was engaged, at 37 weeks, I was dilated to a 4, 80%, baby still in the same position and my bag was bulging. At 38 weeks, I was at a 5, 80% still and I had been having contractions almost non-stop for 2 weeks. My blood pressure was a little high, but hey, contractions and stress will do that, so my doctor decided to induce. 5 hours later I had my second little girl!! They hardly had to do anything to get my labor started, and I only had to push for under 15 minutes. It was pretty easy. I got my epidural right after I got to the hospital, due to my blood pressure, and that brought it down fast!! I hope this one is easy like the last one (I'll be 20 weeks tomorrow- half way!! Yipee!!!) Good luck to you!! I hope things get moving soon!! If you need tips to help get things moving, let me know! You can email me and I'll tell you what I know!!

Oh- one more thing. Not every woman looses their mucus plug. I never did, or it wasn't noticable, so that isn't a real warning sign. Besides, some woman loose theirs weeks before actual labor begins, so don't take that as a true start to labor.

For weeks i had braxton hicks, or so i thought. They were like slight minstrel cramps but not enough to get excited about. I would time them every time i would get a semi-strong one, but still nothing. I went to my last check up before my due date and when i took off my pants my water broke. Perfect timing being that my doctors office was at the hospital i was going to deliver. It turned out that i had been in labor the whole time. They did have to induce so that the contractions would get stronger and 12 hours later i delivered my baby boy. I know you are getting impatient, but the day will come soon enough and you will not be able to remember a time when you did not have your little angel! Good luck

My water broke. Before that, I had been dilated to 3 cm for a week. But I didn't feel anything else. No contractions or anything. I wasn't "nesting" either. Although my husband said I was going nuts. But I didn't notice that I washed the baby's clothing 3 times and stuff like that.

you lose your musus plug which will look pink in color when you wipe. You get the engery to take a walk or clean the house really good, this is called nesting. When real contractions start they will be regular when one stops and another starts it will be 5 mins later. or 3 mins later etc. Irregular contractions are contractions but not strong enough to be labor. They just start things moving along.
